Eastbourne is a unique seaside resort with an amazing range of activities, sports and exciting events for you to enjoy in a fantastic setting. Everything is within easy reach with the seafront promenade virtually leading straight on to the foot of the beautiful Eastbourne Downs and Beachy Head and the town centre just a few yards walk from the centrally located Victorian Pier.

Eastbourne is famous for its beaches. From the tranquil hideaway Falling Sands Beach at the foot of Beachy Head to the popular stretch of beach which runs between the Pier and the Wish Tower.

Five miles of promenade run along the beaches leading you past the stunning Carpet Gardens, the famous 1930s bandstand, historic Napoleonic Towers and the smartly restored Victorian Pier.

Eastbourne has a population of 90,000 people. It is a delightful seaside town, famous for its beautiful setting between the hills of the South Downs and the sea, and its excellent sunshine record.

Eastbourne is a quiet, safe place with lots of facilities for students, especially during the summer. There is a large shopping centre, plenty of restaurants, bars and discos, two large sports centres, three museums, an art gallery, three theatres, a multiplex cinema and numerous parks. A major tennis tournament is held every year at the town’s Devonshire Park.

Eastbournes Sovereign Harbour is the largest boat marina in Europe, with places for over 1100 boats. The famous Seven Sisters White Cliffs and Beachy Head are nearby and offer spectacular views over the town and the English Channel.

The hilly South Downs are on the west of the town. There are some beautiful, unspoilt towns and villages in the Downs.
The School is in the town centre so there are lots of cafes, restaurants, sandwich bars and pubs nearby.

In the evenings and at lunchtimes, most pubs sell good food at reasonable prices. There are Italian, Spanish, Chinese, Indian, French, Thai and many other restaurants in Eastbourne.

There are over 60 pubs selling traditional English ales and continental beers. Some pubs are quiet places for chat and conversation, some have live music at the weekends and many have good beer gardens in the summer.

Whether you are visiting this beautiful seaside town for a holiday or just for the day, Eastbourne offers a superb range of outdoor activities and attractions. The town has one of the top sunshine records and has been awarded the Seaside Award for its clean and safe beaches for the past eight years.
